Apparently there is a tradition of putting pennies on the grave markers of people you admire. Poe collects a lot of pennies. At some point ages ago, there was an initiative for school children to collect "Pennies for Poe" to help purchase a more elaborate monument to him. I like the original marker with the raven just a well. C and I each left a penny here.
Speaking of ravens, Baltimore's newest Ravens made their debut at the Baltimore Zoo today.
