Semi Abstract Zebra

I should mention it's not completed. Maybe when I get home from dinner. I dislike being interrupted while working but am def looking forward to dinner with family. It will also force me outside on a beautiful day.

Saturday's Foolishness

A semi abstract zebra. Don't know why it struck me to paint a zebra exactly. Once I put the orange on the canvas the zebre seemed right.

Obama Lava Lamp

Spotted in Big Lots. I'm not sure who masterminded this item. I'm really not sure who would purchase it? Although I was definitely curious. Is this the type of bizarre item that is so freaking weird it could be coveted by collectors someday?

Edison's Collar

Is now adorning the dog cookie jar. We think he should be ok without it. It was also rubbing his little neck raw. He'll be seeing the vet soon.

Busy day planned. House and yard work, errands, dinner with Dad tonight and hopefully some work on mixed media wall art.

Finished "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" last evening. The book is extremely powerful and almost mesmerizing. The depth and voice of the characters is amazing. The writing is lovely. A touching and compelling beach read.

I see Sarah Richardson is on FLN currently. You know I'll get sucked in. She's my most fav TV interior designer.

Flowers for Your Birthday

Another little teensy painting I made for my friend's birthday - which is today. Happy Birthday!!

Edison Clearly Feels Better

He's been a bit of a terror this morning. He's ruined several rolls ot toilet paper in the past few days as well.

Good Morning from Allister

The other cats are busy playing this morning. He's busy being lazy.

Allister Keeps Me Company While I Paint

He even resisted C's call to snuggle about 20 minutes ago. What could that possibly mean? He never turns down snuggle time and undivided attention.

Edison - Feeling better

Weekend Pics #3

Delaware Memorial Bridge. . .

C driving, d attempting to read. . .

C: "Why do they call it Delaware Memorial Bridge?" It's not like Delaware is gone. . .It's still there."

UGH!!!!!

Best Buddy Completed

C says "Your dog is awesome." Thank you very much, C. I consider your impeccable opinion awesome!

Weekend Pics 101

Went to a party/shower in MD close to the PA line on Saturday afternoon. Beautiful day and beautiful country.

Soul of a Dog - Eyes

Added just a wee bit more paint to the eyes.

I think when you get to this type of detail you should probably stop hoarding all the expensive brushes you've never used because you thought your craft wasn't worthy.

It is worthy. Art is about the artist. Art is for the artist to some degree. Art is the artist - a reflection of them in varing degrees.

It reminds me to live my life. To enjoy it.

Use your good brushes. Wear the date night perfume everyday. Hug harder. Eat the full fat dressing. Laugh at yourself and with everyone else.

Life is too short to save small pleasures and fulfilling moments for another day.

Best Buddy I

Finished - for now at least.

Capturing the Soul of a Dog

You've never met is hard. I'm pleased with the painting overall but it's supposed to resemble a specific dog and that's difficult to do if you've never personally seen his/her eyes. Eyes truly are the window to the soul for all living creatures.

This is acrylic on a 2 by 3 inch canvas. And this blackberry pic doesn't exactly do it justice. I'm relatively pleased. I exercised tremendous restraint with regard to re-doing and fixing. Much like the Bar Exam, I didn't second guess myself.

Also LOVE the teensy canvas. Thought it would be a mess but I love how easy it seemed - this time!

Newest Insanity

Friend Aimee is celebrating a birthday soon. Got her some desk stuff - monogrammed stationary etc and thought it would be fun to give her a teensy easel to display stuff. This is the start of a likeness of her dog. Not completely original - inspired by Warhol's colored pet stuff (Green cat etc and maybe a little Picasso too).

Bella Bunny

Friends Tim and Sonnie liked the frog and owl so much (or at least that's what they said) I said I'd finish the third installment I didn't have done in time for the shower.

Here's Bella Bunny. She thinks veggies are yummy. . .Something about celery root and carrot shoots. . .I'll get the rest of the story when I do another clear coat.

Kitty Painkillers . . .

Sooooo Goooooood!!! Poor Edison! He's had a long weekend!

Guess Who's Home

And hopefully feeling better!

Early Check In

Early check in is fortunate. Getting a room on the 4th floor is not. I have a terrible fear of elevators. I can do steps but after a while 4.5 inch heels become uncomfy.

Found the strangest calming technique - I picture myself in that yoga pose on my back where I'm stretched out but not doing much - Its working for now as a calming technique.

I was able to get in this shitty elevator with about 8 other prople and ride 4 floors. That's progress for me.

Cat n Wedding

Little fellow is going to be just fine. Spending the night at the Cromwell Bridge Road Pet ER. The same might not be said for us and our continued wedding hoopla. Marathon day. Beautiful and fun wedding.

This is NOT Luggage

We were supposed to leave for NJ for a wedding at 8:30 this morning. We were actually on schedule until we noticed Edison had an issue at the site of his um neutering. I think he ruined our comforter bleeding all over it and now we're on our way to the pet ER. This is exactly how things work at homeeckwreck.
